The Technical Challenge of J1939 Cable in Intelligent Upgrade

With the intelligent upgrade of heavy vehicles, J1939 cables are facing multidimensional technical challenges. The first is the growth of bandwidth demand. The traditional transmission rate is difficult to meet the massive data exchange needs of the auto drive system, which promotes the research and development of high transmission rate cables, and may need to support higher rates in the future.

The trend of vehicle electrification brings new environmental challenges, and the electromagnetic compatibility issues between high-voltage systems and J1939 networks are intensifying, requiring cables to have better shielding effectiveness. New shielding materials such as nanocrystalline alloys may need to be used to enhance anti-interference capabilities.

Intelligent diagnosis has put forward new requirements for cables, and some manufacturers have begun to explore intelligent cables with integrated sensing functions, which can monitor temperature, vibration and other parameters in real time, achieve predictive maintenance, but this requires solving the interference problem between sensing signals and communication signals.

The demand for lightweighting also affects cable design. In electric vehicles, weight reduction directly affects the driving range. To promote the application of technologies such as thin-walled insulation and high-strength conductors, a balance needs to be found between weight reduction and performance. In addition, the trend of vehicle cloud integration requires cables to support longer distance transmission, which puts higher demands on signal integrity.
