Interpretation of J1939 Cable Performance from SAE J1939 Protocol
The performance of J1939 cables has always been based on the SAE J1939 protocol as the core criterion. Many users have insufficient understanding of the association between the protocol and cables, resulting in many problems during selection and use. In fact, the SAE J1939 protocol, as a universal communication standard for heavy-duty vehicles, not only defines the logical rules of onboard communication, but also directly determines the structural design and performance parameters of J1939 cables.

In the SAE J1939 protocol family, the physical layer requirements for cables are clearly defined, and the electrical interface standards for cables are also defined. Clear regulations are made on conductor materials, shielding methods, and grounding requirements to ensure compatibility and adaptation between cables and electrical control equipment.
In addition, the protocol also specifies the environmental adaptation standards for J1939 cables, requiring them to have high and low temperature resistance, vibration resistance, oil resistance, moisture and corrosion resistance, and adapt to the complex working conditions of heavy equipment. Only cables produced strictly in accordance with the SAE J1939 protocol can achieve seamless compatibility between different brands and models of electronic control equipment, and maximize communication performance
