Introduction to the Structure and Composition of J1939 Cable

J1939 cables are composed of multiple layers, each of which plays a critical role in their performance. Firstly, the conductor part is often made of high conductivity copper wire material. Copper cores can be divided into single strand and multi strand designs. The multi strand design improves the flexibility of cables and facilitates wiring in narrow spaces.

The insulation layer is tightly attached to the conductor, which not only prevents short circuits between conductors, but also protects the signal from external interference. Polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride are commonly used as insulation materials, and their thickness and material determine the temperature and voltage resistance of the cable.

The shielding layer is an important part of J1939 cable. Aluminum foil or copper woven mesh is usually used to effectively shield external electromagnetic interference and prevent signal crosstalk. The coverage and conductivity of the shielding layer directly affect the signal quality and reliability.

The outer sheath provides ultimate protection for the cable and is made of PVC, polyurethane, or fluoroplastic materials. It is not only wear-resistant, waterproof, and oil resistant, but also can withstand long-term vehicle vibration and mechanical stress. High end cables will also have fire-resistant or UV resistant coatings added to the surface of the sheath to improve safety.

The rationality of the overall structural design directly affects the service life and data transmission stability of the cable. In engineering applications, selecting a suitable structure can ensure the long-term stable operation of J1939 cables in various environments.
