Fleet management and remote monitoring

Commercial fleets need to monitor vehicle location, fuel consumption, and fault information in real-time. By connecting the vehicle terminal (J1939 interface) with the OBD2-GPS tracker through a cable, J1939 data (such as CAN-H/CAN_L signals) can be converted into the OBD2 protocol and uploaded to the cloud platform.

Advantages:

Compatible with existing OBD2 hardware to reduce deployment costs;

Support the collection of J1939 specific parameters (such as axle load and brake pressure) to improve monitoring accuracy.

Maintenance and after-sales diagnosis

Commercial vehicle repair shops often use the universal OBD2 scanner. Through this cable, the diagnostic range can be extended to J1939 vehicles, avoiding the need to purchase specialized tools separately.

Technical points:

Ensure that the cable supports the J1939 physical layer standard;

The tool software needs to have a built-in J1939 protocol stack to parse PGN data.
