Structure composition and material characteristics of J1939 cable

J1939 cable adopts a layered structure design, consisting of conductor, insulation layer, shielding layer (optional), and sheath layer from inside to outside. The selection of materials and structures for each layer is focused on improving transmission reliability and environmental adaptability, strictly complying with the requirements of SAE J1939 standard.

As the core of signal transmission, conductors are made by twisting multiple strands of tinned copper wires. Compared to single stranded conductors, they have better flexibility and fracture resistance, and can adapt to bending and vibration during vehicle wiring processes.


The shielding layer is an optional configuration, mainly used in high electromagnetic interference environments. It adopts an aluminum foil+tin plated copper wire weaving structure, with a shielding efficiency of over 90%, effectively blocking the interference of external electromagnetic signals on the internal transmission of the cable, and preventing the leakage of internal signals of the cable. The sheath layer is made of oil resistant, wear-resistant, and weather resistant polyolefin material, with uniform thickness and good mechanical protection performance, which can resist friction, compression, and chemical corrosion during vehicle operation and extend the service life of the cable. The synergistic effect of each layer structure ensures stable and long-lasting signal transmission of J1939 cable under harsh working conditions.
